Madame Tussaud's Celebrity Encounter features over 100 wax statues, is The Tussaud's first attraction in the United States and joins other Madame Tussaud'a attractions in London, Amsterdam, and Australia.
Some of the figures are really likelike and striking -- it's kind of eery since it feels like they're looking right at you. This is not the wax museum from your childhood, either, where all the figures were behind ropes and you couldn't get anywhere near them. Not-uh. Here all the figures are on the floor and you can mingle with them, or have your picture taken. All the girls were donning the bridal gowns they make available to have wedding pictures taken with George Clooney. Me, I stood eye to eye with Patrick Stewart of Star Trek fame and asked, "You wanna start sumpthin', huh? Come on, captain, let's see whatcha got!"
Here's how you know the figures are authentic. You know how your internal proximity alert goes off in your head when someone stands too close to you? Try this: Move closer to one of the figures, and I swear, as soon as you cross that invisible "personal space" line, your mind will start feeling really uneasy as you move ever closer. It's weird, and neat.
Tickets are $23, and you can get a discount at the half-price ticket place I mention on the front page. See the official website for the museum or read a review at the Las Vegas Review-Journal.

Let me share my experience at another online casino whose name I won't mention: I wanted to try out their free-play games, and they made me sign up for an account. That was annoying, just for free-play, but actually most casinos make you register, so they can annoy you by email to pressure you into depositing real money. I didn't get to choose my own username, they assigned one, and it was long! An astounding twelve digits of mixed numbers and letters. There was no way I'd be able to memorize it, I'd have to write it down. After trying out the free-play games I decided to deposit money and play for real. And guess what? I had to register a separate account to play for real. They assigned me a brand-new twelve-digit username. Great. Shortly thereafter they started offering play-in-browser games. That's convenient, so I wanted to get in on that. Guess what? Yet another username. And guess how they handle they money they give you as a matching bonus on your deposit? You guessed it, another account. Finally, I couldn't play poker there even if I wanted to. Okay, now let's fast-forward to Bodog: One account gets you everything. And I mean everything. Real money, fake money, casino games, poker, you name it. I didn't get to choose my account name, but at least it's easy to remember. And if you want to play for free with fake money, you don't even need an account at all. For example: Play for free, no B.S. |
